Business Growth, Attraction & Retention

Positioning Black enterprises for regional leadership and market expansion

Fueling Black Business Success Across Colorado’s Economy

The Business Growth, Attraction, and Retention Committee (BGAR) strengthens the ecosystem for Black-owned businesses by driving expansion, retention, and long-term competitiveness. Through partnerships, advocacy, and strategic investment, we ensure that Black entrepreneurs have the resources, capital, and opportunities needed to lead and scale in today’s economy.

We work to position Black-owned enterprises as essential players in the regional economy—ready to grow, compete, and capture market share.

Our work is guided by five pillars:

  • Capturing Market Share
Shifting the focus from survival to growth—with strategies for scale, branding, and procurement readiness.

  • Increasing Global Participation
Expanding access to export markets, trade opportunities, and global supply chains.

  • Enhancing Competitiveness
Promoting digital adoption, innovation, and tech-driven growth for Black businesses.
