The Workforce Development Committee drives inclusive talent development strategies that ensure Black Coloradans are fully prepared and positioned to thrive in Colorado’s evolving economy. Through strategic partnerships, targeted initiatives, and forward-thinking solutions, the committee helps dismantle systemic barriers to employment, skills training, and career advancement.

Our work supports the long-term competitiveness of our region by aligning community needs with industry demand—creating equitable pipelines into high-growth careers.

The committee’s work is guided by five pillars:

    Connecting Black talent to high-growth industries through training and employer partnerships.

  • Entrepreneurial Workforce & Talent Development
    Supporting workforce capacity and hiring strategies within Black-owned businesses.

  • Workforce Policy & Equity Advocacy
    Promoting inclusive hiring, fair labor practices, and equitable access to public investments.

  • Future of Work & Technological Adaptation
    Preparing our communities for digital transformation and emerging job markets.

  • Youth & Career Development Pipelines
    Building pathways for young Black professionals into credentialed, leadership-track roles.

The committee hosted a regional briefing on emerging workforce trends, talent gaps, and labor market dynamics shaping the future of work in Metro Denver.

Meeting Schedule

This committee meets monthly on the 2nd Thursdays at 4p. Members contribute to building inclusive career pathways by advancing strategic initiatives, informing policy and funding priorities, and cultivating partnerships that expand opportunity and mobility for Black workers and entrepreneurs.
